About me

Why I’m standing as LSP Chair

11.04.10 | 1 Comment

I just thought I’d better put on record that I’m standing for the position of Chairman of the West Lancashire Local Strategic Partnership.

I do so because I believe I have the knowledge and skill set to do a good job.

I also believe the potentially valuable role of the LSP in bringing together partners to create ‘added value’ has been devalued over the years, and that specific efforts are needed to address this issue.  Failure to do so will be bad for West Lancashire.

So there.

Nominations closed on 1st November, and I do not know who else may have been nominated.

The matter will go before November’s Council Cabinet meeting, at which Cabinet members will make a recommendation to the LSP Executive of who they think should be Chairman.  If the Executive does not agree with the recommendation, and an alternative cannot be agreed, the Borough Council has the final say.

It’s here in the constitution (para 2.5).

We’ll see.
