April 07 Bickerstaffe Record (election special)

The need for a personal manifesto

The need for a personal manifesto In the next few weeks, Bickerstaffe Record readers will receive an election leaflet setting out West Lancashire Labour Party’s position on the major policy issues, and what it will do if it regains power from the Conservative administration on Thursday 03 May.

This is an important part of the democratic process, and we hope you’ll take time to read the leaflet in detail.  There are some important District-wide issues that need to be addressed, and our view is that only a competent Labour administration will be able to do so. What is abundantly clear though, from Paul’s time on the highways and bi-ways of Simonswood, Bickerstaffe and

South Lathom, is that what people really want from a councillor is local action on the things that matter.  They want to know when and where that councillor can be found, and to be sure they’ll always get a proper, efficient response and action when they need it.    People really appreciate being told what’s happening locally – hence the popularity of the Bickerstaffe Record.  They don’t want politics ramming down their throats for the sake of the politics.  They do want to see politics in action, in the form of a clean, safe environment with decent services and increased opportunities.  With this in mind, Paul is committed to the following actions, should he receive enough votes on 03 May to become the councillor for Bickerstaffe ward
