Summer 07 Bickerstaffe Record

Nursery plans submitted

07.23.07 | Comment?

Plans have now been submitted by Bickerstaffe Children’s Services (BCS) to change the use of the New Vicarage,

Intake Lane

to accommodate a nursery.

Bickerstaffe

Holy

Trinity

Church
currently has no resident vicar, and BCS is negotiating a five year lease with the Liverpool Diocese for the vicarage.   This will enable the building to be kept in ‘community use’ rather than sold off by the Diocese, such that it remains available in the future for a return to its original use.

Local residents should be reassured that there will be no significant increase in traffic congestion with this development, since there will be a relocation of children from the current provision in the school hall.  Indeed, traffic congestion likely to be eased, as the new premises will allow for more flexible drop off and pick up times.

Paul Cotterill is an unpaid Director of BCS, and so will need to declare an interest in the matter when it comes before Planning Committee, and take no part in the considerations.  He is therefore entitled to set out his view on the plans (see also page 12).
