About me

Posting on sites

07.25.07 | Comment?

I’ve posted stuff on website and discussion fora fairly rarely to date, because I’m not really that kind of writer – I prefer to go back to stuff and re-edit but by then it never really feels like ‘blog’ material.  I guess it’s all part of being quite old, though the sites I’ve seen do appear to have loads of oldies up to it.  I have done some stuff to the Joseph Rowntree site (maybe dead now?) and the Hansard Society thing on political parties, in which I was trialling different bits of neo-Marxist analysis (my very patient PhD supervisor told me I was talking crap, but it still makes sense to me).  Even so, that was all fairly considered prose and this diary-bash-out-but-in-public-stuff  is still is a bit weird.

But it is all strangely addictive.  I’ve just posted what can only be described as errant nonsense to David Sudworth on his Ormskirk Advertiser site.  Ettiquette of course demands that I connect his site so you can click on the words and go straight there, but I don’t know how to do that just yet.  He’s at www.offtherecord.merseyblogs.co.uk  I got to that from Steve Hanlon’s site, at www.stevehanlon.co.uk.  Steve is my local blog hero (and general hero), as he’s really pithy in the way he sets it all out – as you’ve noticed I’m a rambler.  Oh, and he also helped me set up this site, which I’ve ignored for ages – a bit fomr being busy, mostly from fear of the unknown.  He tells me he’s going to teach me to smarten it all up with pictures and everything – he’s a very patient man.
